Materials needed: notebook and writing utensil. Art materials provided!

Do you love to journal AND make art? In this class, we do both! Together, we will explore visual storytelling and processing. In our journals, we will draw, paint, collage, write and more! Whether you want to write about your week or tell a story, visual journaling is a great creative practice for everyone.

Overview

Day One: deciding what to write about and what materials to use for visual element!

Painting, drawing, collaging, etc., discussion of storytelling and journaling prompts

Day Two: finish journaling project and share with the class if you choose to!

From Catherine: All students are coming from different backgrounds—your classmates may be beginners who are curious to learn more! PLEASE feel free to ask any questions. Although I am the teacher, I’m not the only one in the room with knowledge. Peer collaboration is so important, so don’t be afraid to ask a fellow student their opinion or seek suggestions from the room. I will come prepared with multiple journaling prompts and art supplies!
